Marcel grew up in the paper making center of the Netherlands. His father worked in the Paper Machine Clothing business and he introduced his young child to the paper industry. Later, Marcel studied engineering with internships at paper mills. After a few years in the lasers and electronics industry, Marcel joined his father’s company in 1995. They represented several suppliers to the paper industry, with a focus on the sales & service of Paper Machine Clothing.

Service measurements had to be done with standard equipment, which was not very usable in the rough environment of a paper machine. Out of frustration, Marcel started developing his own gear. His experience in the paper industry, combined with knowledge on engineering and electronics has led to some very dedicated products. In 2008, Marcel decided to focus on developing his own service equipment for the worldwide paper industry. Marcel is married, has three kids and is passionately restoring his semi-classic Volvo.

Feltest since February 2020 new member of TAPPI PTCO

The Feltest-team is happy to announce that Marcel was invited to become member in the Paper Technology and Operating Committee (PTCO) of TAPPI. This committee of the Paper and Board Division is involved in the study of the operation of fourdrinier and twin-wire paper machines and auxiliary equipment from the machine chests to the winder, insofar as such equipment affects the paper machine operation. Marcel is challenging both papermakers and Paper Machine Clothing suppliers to continuously strive for better performing felts and fabrics.
