3 good reasons to measure the real vacuum at the Uhle boxes:
- Vacuum near the pump is not equal to vacuum at the Uhle box.
- Find unexpected differences between tender and drive side and see how it effects the profiles.
- It's easy, quick and reliable!
Measure where it matters... at the Uhle boxes
The vacuum available at the Uhle box can differ tremendously from the vacuum produced by the pump. Piping, (contaminated) valves and other consumers at the same system will influence the vacuum at every position. Therefore, if you want to check the vacuum at the Uhle boxes there is only one place to measure...
With the Feltest RealVac it is easy to compare the vacuum on both tender and drive side of the machine. Several factors can cause differences between the vacuum on both sides, like contamination but also the piping lay-out and the position of the valve.
The Feltest RealVac is also a very helpful tool to set the vacuum valve on-site when there is no manometer installed nearby.
Quickly determine the openness of a press felt
With the Feltest AirSpeed/2 one can quickly measure the air velocity through the felt. But only when the real vacuum is known, one will get a adequate impression of the felts openness.
Doing measurements (of any kind) on running paper machines is potentially dangerous and requires alertness, concentration and common sense. The instruments of Feltest Equipment BV are designed and constructed to be as save as possible for their intended use. Nevertheless it is the user's responsibility to actually use the instrument in a safe way. Feltest Equipment bv can not be held responsible or liable in any way for suffered injuries or damages that occurred while using their instruments.
