For both the paper maker and the press felt producer it is essential to know the press felt's water content. Profiles, both in cross machine direction and in machine direction, contain vital information on the condition of the press section including the felt. The PresScan™ helps to understand what is going on in he press section and to improve the overall paper machine performance.

 

The Feltest PresScan™ uses the newest patented microwave technology to get the best results. The PresScan™ is exclusively designed for use in the paper industry. Felt service engineers where closely involved in the development, which resulted in an instrument that is:

Operator safety has top priority. The PresScan™ comes with a well known fold-out handle. At positions where the press felt is easily accessible, the instrumentcan be used with the handle folded in. But, where necessary, it is possible to fold it out and to keep a greater distance from dangerous machine parts.

  

New microwave technology

 The planar microwave sensor of the PresScan™ does not use a resonance chamber like competitor products. This makes the PresScan™ far less sensitive to temperature changes or mechanical shocks. Also, whether you measure from the paper side or the roll side of the felt, the test results will be practically the same as this sensor is not affected by water on the felt surface.
