3 good reasons to measure the air speed through the felt at the Uhle boxes:
- Monitor the condition of the press felts by facts, not feelings.
- Accurately and quickly determine the openness of press felts.
- It's easy, quick and reliable!
Knowing the condition of press felts
It is always benificiary to monitor the condition of the press felts in your paper machine. Of course for a secure planning of machine stops, but also for trouble shooting when confronted with quality or runnability problems.
One important parameter are the applied vacuum on the Uhle box (Feltest RealVac), the caliper of the felt (Feltest Caliper Gauges) and the water content and permeability.
The Feltest AirSpeed/2, designed for press felts
The Feltest AirSpeed/2 is designed to bo be used on running press felts. The low-friction plastic head contains a high precision vane yhat accurately measures the air velocity through the felt. With the 'record-to-memory' function the minimum and maximum values can be read after each test. All parts are robust and suitable for the rough, corrosive environment of paper mills.
Doing measurements (of any kind) on running paper machines is potentially dangerous and requires alertness, concentration and common sense. The instruments of Feltest Equipment BV are designed and constructed to be as save as possible for their intended use. Nevertheless it is the user's responsibility to actually use the instrument in a safe way. Feltest Equipment bv can not be held responsible or liable in any way for suffered injuries or damages that occurred while using their instruments.
